Ali Doğan Gönültaş (Turkey/Anatolia)

Ali Doğan Gönültaş is an artist who revives the forgotten melodies of Anatolia. His music goes beyond the mere sounds, being a story of memory, identity, and spirituality. Raised in a Kurdish Alevi family, he grew up in a world where music was a form of passing on history and a voice of those who were forced into silence.

The album Kiğı, the fruit of many years of research and conversations with elders, is a tribute to the minorities: Kurds, Armenians, and Alevis. Gönültaş combines poignant vocals with the sound of the tembûr*, to create authentic and emotionally resonant music.

Following his success on international stages, Ali Doğan Gönültaş will perform in Poland for the first time! His concert at the Ethno Port Festival in Poznań is a rare opportunity to hear these mystical melodies.

*a string instrument strongly associated with Kurdish culture
